====== Quiet As Snow ====== **Session Date**: 07/19/2025 \\ **Game Master**: Declan/Riley ===== Player Characters ===== * [[:beatrix|Beatrix]], Harengon Ranger/Monk (Colin B) * [[:caiel|Caiel]], Tiefling Warlock (Nat) * **Inari**, Kitsune Arcane Trickster Rogue (Rex) * [[:klast|Klast Ronison]], Rock-Man Peace Cleric (Jim W) * [[:lith_oakenheart|Lith Oakenheart]], Shadar-Kai Circle of the Moon Druid (Bridget) * **Myrrha Venolin**, Drow Trickery Cleric (Karen) ===== Named People and Places ===== * [[:nemedobur|The Province of Nemedobur]] - Declan's adventuring province; a group of dangerously unstable and widely unexplored shards * Luaighear - A moderately sized shard in [[:nemedobur|The Province of Nemedobur]] that is covered in ash and ice, with a large mountain range in the center. * [[:steve_mcsword|Steve McSword]] - A haughty, arrogant human paladin & Founding [[:the_voyagers|Voyager]] * Isaiah - An anxious human man & one of the Founding [[:the_voyagers|Voyager]] * [[:letharr|Letharr]] - The mysterious Goddess of water, death, and grief; Klast's patron Goddess * [[:mask|Mask]] - A God of old, still the God of thieves; Myrrha's patron God * Cyric - A God of old; the lies, trickery, and strife, formerly holding domain over tyranny, murder, lies, death, intrigue, and illusion; also Mask's toxic ex (A/N: Yes, that is real DnD lore) ===== Major Plot Points ===== * The party is brought to the frigid Shard of Luaighear with the mission to find a place for a proper [[:the_voyagers|Voyager]] Outpost * There are one or two points of interest marked on the map, but they're told by Isaiah that they should look towards the mountains for a cave to help shelter them from the cold * They trek forward, [[:beatrix|Beatrix]] taking point, leading them towards the first point of interest which is a small crater-like divot in the ground * [[:klast|Klast]] notices a strange storm formation within the divot, [[:beatrix|Beatrix]] determining that this formation is following them until it attacks * A fight ensues, where the large storm spawns smaller storm imps, Inari taking down the big one and the rest of the party finishing off the little ones * [[:lith_oakenheart|Lith]] determines that these beings aren't necessarily natural creatures, but rather, are the result of the unstable magic that is characteristic of [[:nemedobur|The Province of Nemedobur]] mixing with the natural blizzards that frequently blanket the plane in ashy snow * [[:klast|Klast]] feels a pull towards the mountains, feeling certain that there's some sort of cave hidden nearby, which he does manage to find * Myrrha lights the way with Dancing Lights, [[:klast|Klast]] feeling drawn in by his connection to [[:letharr|Letharr]], and the party enter a chamber where they discover an ancient tarnished statue of a dragonborn man covered in a [[:sundering|Pre-Sundering]] version of common * They short rest, [[:caiel|Caiel]] using Comprehend Languages to decipher the text along the statue, discovering it's of a man named [[https://theadventurers.academy/wellmet/doku.php?id=kliff|Ingyirixywyckliff Rimeclaw]], the phrase "Strength Comes From Within" inscribed below the name * [[:beatrix|Beatrix]] uses Detect Magic to determine that there is a lot of innate Divine magic on the Shard, perhaps explaining the strange additional connection to the Gods the two clerics are experiencing * Myrrha gets a gut feeling that something is hidden behind the statue, as if [[:mask|Mask]] is pointing her in the right direction, discovering an ashy pile with something underneath * While clearing away the ash, Myrrha accidentally disturbs an Ash Dragon that attacks the party, downing Inari and [[:steve_mcsword|Steve McSword]] in its rage * Myrrha downs it, and discovers something with the mark of Cyric on it, getting a strange and uncomfortable feeling as she looks at it * Isaiah and [[:steve_mcsword|Steve]] talk quietly, then Isaiah approaches the party and asks them to keep this newest discovery a secret for now, [[:klast|Klast]] determining that while Isaiah is genuine in his desire to keep it out of the wrong hands, there is some sort of additional ulterior motive of hiding it, and [[:steve_mcsword|Steve]] seems frustrated about the whole thing * The mission ends successfully, though strangely, with the party finding a suitable place for an Outpost but the weight of this new discovery leaving some feeling very uneasy
