The Scalesong Sanctuary

Welcome to The Scalesong Sanctuary!

Psithuris and the Mithrilwood family try to find and help local animals at the sanctuary. Many animals are rescued and recuperated but some stay at the sanctuary and others are made available for adoption to adequate guardians. Psithuris works with these animals and helps to train them. He often uses his ability to wild shape into the animal he is helping to make better connection and facilitate easier training. A 150g donation is suggested for adoptions to help offset the cost of food, care, and training.

Due to the recent influx of pygmy dinosaurs to the sanctuary, everyone has been working hard to find them good homes. As a reminder, these dinosaurs are about the size of a large dog.

Finn has adapted quickly to life near civilization and makes a great companion. He likes showing off his large sail on his back which also allows his guardian cover in hiding.

Siren is a very graceful and sociable parasaurolophus. She likes being in groups and can use her cranial crest to warn her guardian. It can also be used as a distraction, where all enemies within 20 ft would be at a disadvantage in attacking for the turn following its use, once per day.

In addition to the named dinosaurs available for adoption, the Scalesong Sanctuary offers a selection of expedition-ready dinosaurs that are fully trained and ready for action. These dinosaurs are divided into two categories; Small Companions and Mount Companions. The available stock of each kind of dinosaur is listed below, along with their pricing. As dinosaurs spend more time with their people, they start to learn new tricks. Whenever their person levels up, they also get to “level up” as well. On each level up, dinosaurs may either take an Ability Score Improvement (two points to put into one or two scores of your choice) or they may choose one of the following Feats. Unless specified otherwise, the Feat will function just as it does for player characters.

For those who wish to accessorize, bling out, or better protect their dinosaurs, look through the list below of available options to make your companion extra special. All items are custom made to order, sized to fit your dinosaur companion perfectly.

• Nail/Hoof Polish - Makes your dinosaur feel pretty. Comes in all variety of colors. Costs 8 GP.
• Outfit - Want to match with your dinosaur? Or just play a little dress up? Look no further, because you've found the peak of dino fashion right here. Costs 20 Gp per outfit.
• Camouflage Paint - Gives your dinosaur +4 to Stealth Checks. Takes 10 minutes to apply. Lasts until your next Long Rest, or unless the paint is somehow washed off. Only one set of paint can be applied at a time. Costs 65 GP.
• Elemental Paint - Gives your dinosaur resistance to Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, or Thunder, depending on the type of paint selected. Takes 10 minutes to apply. Lasts until your next Long Rest, or unless the paint is somehow washed off. Only one set of paint can be applied at a time. Costs 200 GP.
• Potion Sling - For Small Class only. A handy little leather harness that can be strapped onto your Companion, allowing them to carry one potion without taking up their hands. Could also theoretically be used for other similarly sized objects as needed. Costs 100 GP.
• Extra Large Saddle - For Mount Class only. This saddle will allow any rideable dinosaur to comfortably carry one additional rider on its back. Costs 250 GP.
• Medium Barding - Sets base AC to 14, add DEX mod to AC (up to +2). Can be worn by the Compy, Oviraptor, Rhamphorhynchus, Carnotaurus, and Raptor Companions. Costs 350 GP
• Heavy Barding - Sets AC to 18 and gives Disadvantage on Stealth checks. Can be worn by the Ankylosaurus, Pachycephalasaur, and Triceratops Companions. Costs 700 GP.
