There have been a number of very similar “cloned” beings calling themselves Markessa throughout Aperta-Mundi. There have even been records of such beings in the past. There are tales of an ancient elven sorceress named Markessa who served at the right hand of the elven prince Karolus. They ruled the Principality of Drudge at the height of its power during the Age of Elven Dominance. At that time, it was the most powerful civilization in all of Aperta-Mundi.

Of course, by now Markessa must be long dead as this was easily hundreds of elven lifetimes in the past.

Despite operating separately and having no knowledge of one another, they all have sinister intent. It is believed that they all serve an original being who calls herself Markessa.
