Prince of the Abyss
Dark portents roil the nations of the world. Long ago, a mighty demon prince and his minions were defeated and banished but over the ages that magic has waned against a constant assault from the abyss. As the curtain rises on this unique four-episode adventure, a group of the world’s mightiest adventurers gather to discuss how they can oppose the threat they all can plainly see coming. While the mortal armies allied with the heroes can hold back the main throng of demonic forces, a single decisive attack is required to strike directly at the demon lord and banish them once more. Will the party’s preparation put them in a position for victory? Can these adventurers defeat a demon lord at the peak of their powers, or will the peaceful mortal folk experience an apocalyptic hell on earth never seen before?

Magic Items
Player characters may choose from a menu of choices below:
- Start with pondering whether you want to run or rule something. You may optionally take one of those options under PC Choices, each of which provide a benefit in the form of material or an ally. Once a choice is claimed, no one else may claim it. https://theadventurers.academy/prince/magic/PC%20Choices%20-%20Prince%20of%20the%20Abyss.pdf
- Next, choose ONE item from the PRIMARY magic items list. These are all the big and flashy items. Just like the PC Choices, once an item is claimed no one else may claim it. https://theadventurers.academy/prince/magic/Primary%20Magic%20Items%20-%20Prince%20of%20the%20Abyss.pdf
- Next, choose TWO items from the SECONDARY magic items list. These are less flashy, but still quite powerful. Some of these choices may look familiar from the Veterans' game. Unlike the other two lists, you all may duplicate your choices here. https://theadventurers.academy/prince/magic/Secondary%20Magic%20Items%20-%20Prince%20of%20the%20Abyss.pdf
- Finally, choose THREE items from the CONSUMABLE magic items list. Here as well, you may all duplicate choices. https://theadventurers.academy/prince/magic/Consumable%20Magic%20Items%20-%20Prince%20of%20the%20Abyss.pdf
A Brief History of Civorea
- There was an apocalyptic event in which the “Dead Gods” who created the world of Aperta-Mundi were locked away for all times by a regime of the “Old Gods.”
- Deities who came after the original “Old Gods” are known as the “New Gods.” Many of these beings were demigods who were once mortal and were able to achieve apotheosis. During this period, there were many of these newer deities who came to join the heavenly pantheon.- Selûne is one of these New Gods.

- Kingdoms of mortals rose and fell, with fortunes changing often within a generation or two.
- Elves coming from the Feywild and the Shadowfell settled the world, mostly on the continent of Civorea. Those that stayed traded eternal life for a great empire powered by strange magic that stretched across much of the oceans of the world.
- The Elven Empire has faded and fractured, allowing many new nations to rise. Fueled by the successes of certain personages such as the adventurers.
A Brief Geography of Civorea
The nearby city-states on the continent of Civorea include:
- Murktide - This grim sea-side city bears the scars and shame of once participating in demon worship and mortal sacrifice. However in more recent times, it has become an important hub of trade and transport.
- Glimmerford - This merry city straddles the Shimmer River, and has a long history of magic. The academy that bears the city’s name is the premiere school for arcane study. The nearby forests have been tamed by the party, including the Whistling Woods where Gadri resides.
- Capstone - This undermountain city was chiseled into the living rock by dwarves in a previous age. Now it stands proudly as a fortress with a rich military tradition.
- Krakozhia - A far-off backwater territory in remote Civorea.
Despite being unique states, all three are allies and have fought against larger threats together in the past.
