The Homeshard Heroes arrive at Flaygallows to find it all decked out for a big, royal wedding. All sorts of Shadar-Kai warships hang nearby in orbit.
Harbormaster Pike bring the party to a party at the Flaygallows Green Grocer where they are celebrated by the Whimsicals for all of their good deeds for the shard of Flaygallows.
Chartreuse confronts Chaddrus about his treatment of Caiel. She notes that Stacy is extremely angry with the cambion.
Keeka confronts Antoine Pierre about the incident with Lith. The ambassador drops his elven accent when the Homeshard Heroes get nearby.
Bailia tells King Elisar that Prince Rhebus feels compelled to marry Princess Gloriana. She learns that there was a misunderstanding between that family.
The heroes overhear General Karioch and Minister Rakthar discussing the fact that the “Monstrous Energy” is already in place. “The herald has truly set the table for the Dark Messiah.”
Princess Glorianna and Prince Rhebus emerge. They perform Bailia's dance. Keeka distracts the Princess while Bailia explains her discussion with King Elisar. Stunned, the couple are pulled away to make a tour of the room.
Rather than a toast to his new bride, Prince Rhebus says that there will be no wedding. Princess Glorianna grabs at the Favor of the Raven Queen in Prince Rhebus' hands. A raven appears, grabs the amulet and drops it in Lith's lap. Glorianna shrieks that her curse of Lith should have kept that from happening. Keeka decks Glorianna.
Shards begin slamming into Flaygallows like bombs dropping. Klast is able to identify the shards as they rocket toward them like comets.
The heroes save as much of the population of the Flaygallows as possible. Somehow even
Dr. Amazing finds his way to safety.
As they flee, the Dark Messiah powered by Monster Energy reaches for Chartreuse's ship. It stops short, calling out “mom” in a voice that later is identified as being Caiel's.
There is much chaos as refugee ships are being coordinated and supplies are being allocated for the over fourteen-thousand Shadar-Kai civilians. All that remain of the civilians that once lived on the Shadowfell shards. Each of the Shadowfell shards have smashed into one-another killing untold thousands. The shards appeared to combine into a humanoid shape with the Shadowfell fascist's
Tower of Death at its head.

Lith is definitely not the leader of the Shadar-Kai, instead a popular figurehead.
