Welmet Voidspace Station

After some time had passed, the Home colonists felt it was prudent to begin exploring the shard systems close to them. To help facilitate this, they repurposed much of what had been the Voidspace Vessel Home into a Voidspace Station named after the legendary Welmet Heroes of so long ago. With this outpost, the colonists could stage away missions to nearby shard systems and also arrange to meet with the other people that survived. The Welmet Station has a relatively small population, but there is definitely room to develop and grow as Home adventurers influence the Aether around them.

The voyagers from the Vessel Home discovered shards of a plane thought lost. This plane had the ability to open doors to many different planes. With the planes shattered, the power of these doors was all but lost. After the construction of Welmet, the magic behind these doors was placed onto various new Voidspace Vessels. This allows the Vessels to move. The myriad drives have been upgraded with this new technology to move at faster speeds than ever thought possible.

Topside

Topside is the base of operations for the Welmet. The console for keeping the vessel running resides here. The Lady also resides here on the super computer. Myriad, the creator of the miriad drive, is the captain of the Welmet and spends most of her day ensuring that everything remains functional. Several other officers assist topside as well. Each one specializes in an area of expertise that allows the vessel to function.

Merchants & Traders

The second level of the Wellmet belongs to the Overseers of Wealth and Commerce. This group was created by the voyagers from the Vessel Home. Alec the worrier is the head of the OWC.

This area is home to many places of business including:

Dockside

Dockside is the place where all the vessels ship out to head to The Road. Here, all the vessels are kept, cleaned, and repaired. The OWC sees that each of these workers gets paid a fair wage, and they created a Dockside Union shortly after being contracted.

The Dockside workers consist of all kinds of species that have come to Welmet, but one group in particular has found themselves with an affinity for assisting in repairs. The Grung are frog-like people with long, lanky arms and thick amniotic skin which makes them perfect for getting in to the parts of ships that others cannot. The Dockside Union ensures that the Grung do not face unfair working conditions or put themselves in harms way. This union is led by Gal Brok, a purple Grung with a long history of working for others.

The Juice Bar

The Juice Bar is the level in which all restaurants and manner of drinking reside. The name was given to this level after the first place to call it home was a juice bar that has since closed down due to lack of interest.

Some places for adventurers to wind down after a voyage include:

The Goodtimes Casino

Sometime after the colonization of the WelMet station, a group of entrepreneurs set out to create a wonderful place to enjoy the nightlife on the station. Thus began the construction of the Goodtime Casino. A place with all manner of scum and villany.

The Goodtimes Casino is known to house unsavory dealings across its floor. It has become a safe haven for criminals and those seeking to sell wares without the influence of the O.W.C.

Isva's Hand Orphanage

The Aether is a scary, unpredictable place, especially for children without a family. The orphanage on Welmet is a safe place where children are cared for and educated in all manner of crafting.

If you are a parent that finds yourself unable to provide for your child, please consider contacting us. If you have discovered or are aware of a child in need of help, please contact us. If you are looking to adopt a child or foster one into an internship, please contact Sister Yuna Keen.

At Isva's Hand we believe that all beings have value, and we hope to guide all to find their purpose.

The Lady

Upon completion of the Welmet station, a mysterious voice appeared in the head of a few of those Topside. The voice was calming, quiet, and in desperate need of help. The captain of the Welmet, Myriad, created a supercomputer capable of house sentience. Using the magic within the Myriad Drive, she was able to transfer the consciousness of the voice into the Welmet itself. The voice has introduced itself only as The Lady. It monitors all of the Welmet and can appear on any computer on the entire ship.

The Lady has no memory of her past life, whatever it may have been. Sometimes, those on the Welmet can see her manifest a hologram of herself Dockside. They recount that her countenance is unlike anything they have ever seen before. This has caused many Dockside to believe she is a goddess. They have begun worshiping her.

The Lady uses her power over the Welmet to assist in day to day operations. She is constantly switching computers to assist in the docking of ships, the preparation of travel, food distribution, and the handling of disputes.

The Fireballroom

A magically created space where anyone can train on anything they desire. The room operates similar to the hyperbolic time chamber from Dragon Ball Z. While within, time passes normally for you but slowly for everyone on the outside. The magic allows anyone to say what they wish to experience, then it conjures a simulation of that experience. Perfectly safe, right?

The Planes of Fire and Water

When the voyagers of the vessel Home were planning to create their void station, two things were certain. They needed water, and they needed energy. After much traveling and deliberation, they stumbled upon the perfect play to build the Welmet. It was between two shards of the elemental planes of water and fire.

The fire shard, Adra as it came to be called, is a spherical shaped shard completely engulfed in flame. Despite this, once past the initial aurora of flame, the shards atmosphere is breathable. For a time. The shard is inhabited by those left behind during the great cataclysm. Rather, the shard is inhabited by their living corpses.

The water shard, Riya, is a vastless freshwater ocean with very few pieces of land to touch down. The inhabitants of Riya worship this great sea and use it for healing magic. These druids have agreed to a tenuous partnership with the Welmet.

Together, with Adra and Riya, the welmet is able to function. It uses the energy from the shard of Adra to keep the miriad drive working while the water of Riya allows for a functional water source for the stations inhabitants to use.
