- Shadowhaven - The name of the shard famous for the Deep Red Wine
- Maddox and Macsen - These twinned Shadar-Kai are fixtures of Shadowhaven. One is stable, married with children. The other is a shady fellow who trades on his twin brothers' reputation as an upstanding individual.
- Brenin - A powerful Shadar-Kai wizard and the historical founder and protector of Shadowhaven
- Wenda - A madwoman who believes her son Aled was replaced by a demon
- Cadoc - Shadowhaven's oft-drunk guardsman
- Sheriff Delwyn - A coward and the leader of the village defenses
- Father Dietrich - The judgmental leader of the lawful church
- One-Eye Nye - Owner and operator of the Watery Knave pub
- Mayor Tristana - The current leader of Shadowhaven
Major Plot Points
- The Homeshard Heroes return to the shard of Shadowhaven. They find the place has suffered greatly in the few days that they were away.
