Lonnal, deciding to give up his millennia long chase of Ara, has decided to remain in Aperta-Mundi for the rest of his days. He wrote the above letter and planeshifted it to a known hideout of hers to say goodbye (she never knew Lonnal knew about that hideout, of course). Whether she ever returns to finish what she started, is a tale for another time.
Lonnal stayed with Kliff and Percy for some time, before moving into a small flat of his own in Welmet while construction on the new academy began. Lonnal still often stops by for meals, and has formally requested induction into the Big Sad Boy Club, as while he is not as physically large as Kliff or Toro, he has what would be called “The Big Sad”. He also knows the Enlarge spell.
In time, Lonnal and Wren opened their academy for arcane arts, what do want to call this place?). While generalist studies were available, the gem in the academy's crown was their Bladesinger program, dedicated to training the newest wandering defenders of Aperta-Mundi, trained in blade, spell, and song. For over a thousand generations, Bladesingers were known as the guardians of peace and justice on Aperta-Mundi.
Lonnal and Wren became headmasters of the Academy, sharing their knowledge with the world. In time, Lonnal would tell Wren of the better side of Ara, the person who raised Lonnal from a scruffy street rat to a powerful mage. Also, because old habits die hard, Lonnal did still occasionally take leave of the Academy to go on some hare-brained adventure for some ancient relic somewhere, though he would always be admonished by his friends upon his return. Finally, in time, Lonnal's age began to catch up with him. Haregons only normally live about as long as humans, and as he was no long planehopping, the millennia began to take hold. A long time from now, longer than any of us may be looking into the world of the Well Met Heroes, Lonnal passes away quietly with friends beside him. His arcane items are kept in the vaults of the Academy, but for his blade Lightluck, which hangs above the office of the headmaster, only to be ignited again in times of great peril.
