Description

The Nut House™ (brought to you by Dee’s fine Cupules & Legumes) is a very large secure bastion on the shard of Luaighear. It is carved into a system of caves on that shard adjacent to the existing Voyagers outpost there. The bastion was originally constructed by Mac (Danny), Caiel (Nat), Lith (Bridget), and Klast (Jim). Caiel was able to secure a sponsorship deal with Dee’s fine Cupules & Legumes, granting the bastion an infinite supply of nuts and other snack foods made by Dee’s the only cost being the required branding of the bastion.

Caiel and Mac have subsequently departed on a mission (and the characters were turned over to the DMs because the players wanted to switch characters). Chartreuse (Nat) and Vicurian (Danny) are the new characters that have moved in.

The Nut House™ boasts an Aetherdock for voidships, including the Compass (a large pleasure yacht), and several smaller warships captured from Shadar-Kai fascists. This dock allows voidships to be repaired, refit, and upgraded here. There is also an elixirium that makes potions automatically. There is also a hearthstone style voidgate that allows the owners of the bastion to return from anywhere.

As construction of this bastion was finishing Lith was nearly kidnapped from her apartment on the Wellmet and her soul was captured by Graeae. Subsequently there was an attempt to secretly have Graeae puppet Lith’s soulless body around pretending to be Lith. Due to these concerning occurrences, security in the bastion became of paramount importance. To facilitate this the Bastion has many defenses. Including an army of knee high semi-autonomous stone constructs called stone defenders, numerous awakened poison Ivy plants, mechanical spiders with a variety of tools/weapons, various layered alarm spells, countless arcane locks, and a variety of Glyphs of Warding that are keyed to activate in the presence of people who are not on the approved list or people that are not who they claim. There is a secure vault beneath the bastion that locks away a voidspan gate that has a mysterious purpose that Cyric refused to share.

Additionally over time various upgrades have been made to improve this bastion. Particularly after the weddingpocalypse caused so many Shadar-kai refugees to be displaced a significant expansion was made to The Nut House, adding a public facing portion that is separate from the private residence (which remains private and heavily guarded).

Klast upgraded the statue of Ingirix to be part of a whole church layout with pews (mechanically it acts as the Sacred Altar upgrade). Klast holds church services (with singing, fellowship, and community support groups) several times a week.

A new transfer gate to/from the Wellmet in the public area of the bastion was installed to make it easier for refugees and pilgrims to move around without having to trek through the ice & snow. The existing transfer gate to/from the Wellmet is still available a few miles across the tundra.

A massive industrial kitchen was installed in the public section of the bastion with the intent of helping to feed more of the refugees from the great Wedding Shadarpocalypse.

Klast, Lith, Chartreuse, and Vicurian excavated and reinforced large amounts of new caves beyond the existing Voyagers outpost. These new caves are built around the common dining hall, the transfer gate, Kitchen, and church. These caves were set up to house a few thousand refugees until a more suitable location could be found for them.

Please note, the defenses and wards of the private part of this bastion will react with great hostility towards anyone that was not invited. Several members of this bastion can view the defenses of the bastion remotely to vet potential visitors, but like anyone's home you would need a very good reason to show up and knock on the door uninvited.
