Callie is played by Sheila
Callie spends her time tracking down individuals that the Raven Queen has decided she is collecting the souls of next to guide them onwards. There may be some vigilante work involved on occasion.
Calledras Shadowblade was born in the Shadowfell, a land of endless twilight and despair, where the living and the dead linger in a perpetual state of mourning. She grew up in a poor, destitute corner of the plane, a place where shadows stretched like creeping fingers and hope was a distant memory. From a young age, she knew hardship. The constant chill in the air, the oppressive silence of a dead world, and the ever-present feeling that something was lurking just beyond the corner of her vision—these were the things that shaped her.
She and her younger sister, Ariyah, were inseparable. Despite the bleakness of their surroundings, Ariyah's lighthearted spirit was a rare warmth in the cold expanse of the Shadowfell. She was everything to Callie: her closest confidante, her only true friend, and the one person who made the Shadowfell feel even the slightest bit livable. But, like everything in the Shadowfell, their fleeting happiness was doomed. When Callie was in her late teens, the pair were ambushed by a brutal gang of Shadowfell marauders while traveling through a desolate ruin in search of magical items to sell. Ariyah was slaughtered before Callie could even react, her life snuffed out in a merciless instant. The sight of her sister’s body, cold and lifeless, is a memory that haunts Callie every day of her existence.
In the aftermath of Ariyah’s death, Callie was consumed by grief and rage. She was alone, devastated, and on the brink of collapse, until she heard the whisper of a voice in the deepest recesses of her despair. The Matron of Ravens, the mysterious and merciless goddess of death, appeared before her in the form of a raven, its eyes like black orbs reflecting the void of the Shadowfell itself. The Matron offered her a deal: the soul of Ariyah would be spared from the depths of damnation, but in return, Callie must swear an oath to serve death itself, to maintain the balance between life and death. She would become a servant of the Matron, wielding the power to command death’s touch, a gift that would bind her forever to the Matron of Ravens. Desperate, and driven by a burning need to keep her sister from the eternal torment of the Shadowfell, Callie accepted without hesitation.
From that moment on, Callie was bound to the Matron’s will. She gained the ability to channel divine power, to commune with spirits, and to shepherd the souls of the departed. Yet, the price was steep. The light of her soul faded, leaving behind a cold, cynical being who no longer trusted the world or the people in it. Now a servant of death, Callie wanders the lands of the living, seeking to fulfill the conditions of her bargain. Her cynicism is a defense, a shield forged from the pain of loss. She keeps others at arm’s length, fearing the heartache of getting close to anyone again. No one can truly understand the weight of her burden, and so she keeps her emotions locked away, hidden beneath a cold, distant exterior.
The powers of the Grave Domain are a constant reminder of her oath. She can feel the presence of the dead, hear the whispers of lost souls, and sometimes, in moments of quiet solitude, she can still feel Ariyah’s spirit lingering near her, a faint trace of warmth in an otherwise empty world. But it’s not enough. The bargain with the Matron of Ravens was only the first step.
Callie’s heart longs for one thing: to find a way to free her sister’s soul fully, to break the bond she made with the Matron of Ravens. If there is a way to sever the deal, to reclaim Ariyah from death’s grip and restore her to life, she will find it—even if it means defying the very goddess who holds her power. She roams the world now as a skilled hunter and thief, often operating in the shadows and using her abilities to track down those who meddle with death—necromancers, grave robbers, and other dark forces that twist the natural order. Her talents in stealth and survival make her a formidable figure in the darkness, though she never allows herself to enjoy the kill. To her, all death is an inevitable end, and she serves only as its reluctant guide. Yet, beneath the layers of grief, rage, and cynicism, a spark of hope still flickers. The Matron of Ravens did not promise her an easy path, but Callie is determined to see it through. She will not allow Ariyah’s soul to remain in torment, not as long as she draws breath.
