The Empire of Blossoms

For all of recorded history, the elves ruled an expansive empire throughout the Aetherverse through sorcerous might and sheer power. The Imperial Elven navy once dominated the void, dispensing justice and taking the resources of others as they wished. The empire's ships were built to not only be the fastest voidships, but also to take the greatest advantage of magic. As such, the fact that elven magi have largely abandoned the jingoistic policies of the empire has largely crippled the mighty vessels that once instilled such fear and obedience.

The Fey Shard of Albion is the home of a powerful, alien magic. If an Eladrin born of Albion should ever leave, they forfeit their eternal youth and are destined to grow old and die. However, there are always those driven by poverty, boredom, or love to give up their birthright. In recent generations the empire has slipped from its preeminent place becoming more and more introverted, rotten and decadent. Few leave Albion which still relies on the wealth and power hoarded over lifespans. Albion is home to many of the Aetherverse's greatest remaining storehouses of knowledge and power including the Imperial Academy of Albion and the Imperial Aether Naval Institute.

The Province ruled from Albion includes many of the shards of those who owe their allegiance to the empire.
